This book of tear tickets is an example of common “Commutation” or monthly commuter booklets provided to regular riders. The specific passenger who used this booklet was Roy Hoffman of Mt. Lena, son of a company employee and a student who rode the trolleys from home to Boonsboro High School daily.
The book is stamped both on the cover and on each individual tags using “Employee”, “Boonsboro” and “Mt. Lena” station stamps. The ticket tabs which would have been removed by the motorman in exchange for each trip were stamped so as to alternate between “From Mt. Lena to Boonsboro” and “From Boonsboro to Mt. Lena”
