Electric Interurbans and the American People by Roger Grant

This book provides an overview to the importance of interurban railway networks across the United States and their influence on communities.  While there are only two brief mentions of the local railway system, the cover of the book features a photograph of H&f #172 at the Western Maryland Railway passenger station in Thurmont in 1952 taken by A. Aubrey Bodine.
