Potomac Edison Thurmont Branch Closure Notice

This is an original sign on thick paperboard which would have been placed where trolley riders and the public could see, notifying them that there was to be a public hearing in Baltimore requesting permission from the state of Maryland to abandon trolley service between Frederick and Thurmont and replace it with bus service.

The official “Last Trolley” on this route was less than a month after the hearing, on February 20, 1954.
